KICK-OFF OF SOLAR POWER PROJECT (PHASE 2) – HAO CANH CERAMICS FACTORY, THAI BINH

On May 22, 2023, the groundbreaking ceremony for a 2.4 MWp rooftop solar power system (Phase 2) took place at Hao Canh Ceramics Manufacturing and Trading Co., Ltd. in Thai Binh, led by ON Energy.

Hao Canh Ceramics Factory is making great progress in its journey toward sustainability by moving forward with Phase 2 of its rooftop solar project, adding a 2.4 MWp system.

This follows the completion of Phase 1, which brought an 858 kWp system to the factory. Trusted by the investor, Soga Pluto, and the factory owner, ON Energy Green Energy Joint Stock Company was chosen to carry out Phase 2 at Production Workshop No. 2. With this addition, the total project capacity now reaches 3.26 MWp.

The system operates under a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) model, funded by Soga Pluto, with ON Energy as the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractor. This setup means Hảo Cảnh Ceramics doesn’t have to invest in or manage the system—it simply uses affordable solar power.

With an investment of over 35 billion VND, the rooftop solar project at Hao Canh Factory is expected to be completed by October 2023. It’s projected to generate about 2,749 MWh of electricity each year and reduce CO2 emissions by 77,017 tons annually.

In today’s world of limited energy resources, this 3.26 MWp solar system will provide a steady power supply for the factory’s production and business needs once it’s up and running. This will also support Vietnam’s economic growth.

Beyond that, the project aligns with Thai Binh Province’s goal of becoming a hub for modern industrial and socio-economic development. It will help improve people’s lives, ensure social stability, and protect the environment.
