SOLAR POWER PROJECT KICKS OFF AT OPV PHARMACEUTICAL FACTORY
On the morning of February 22nd, 2022, the groundbreaking ceremony for a rooftop solar power project took place. OPV Pharmaceutical Company is investing in this project, and ON Energy Green Energy Joint Stock Company is the main contractor – they will supply all the equipment and build the system.

The project will have a capacity of 748 kWp, with a total investment of over 10 billion VND. Once completed, this solar system will generate electricity right at the OPV pharmaceutical factory to help with their production. This is in line with the Vietnamese government’s Decision 13/2020/QD-TTg, which encourages the development of solar power in Vietnam.
ON Energy plans to finish the entire rooftop solar power system by April 2022. This will help OPV Pharmaceutical lower their production costs and move towards a goal of sustainable growth.

According to Mr. Mai Van Hieu, Deputy General Director of ON Energy, installing rooftop solar power helps reduce energy costs and lower the temperature inside the factory. It also gives OPV’s pharmaceutical products an advantage in international markets because they are made using “green” energy.

ON Energy believes that there is a huge potential for self-consumption rooftop solar power in Vietnam. Therefore, supporting customers to develop rooftop solar power is a key long-term strategy for the company. They see it as an effective source of electricity and a practical solution to meet the growing electricity needs of society.
